Running With The Fash Pack....Paris Fashion Week SS 2010
Running With The Fash Pack....London Fashion Week SS 2010
Well, its nearly New Years Eve-does everyone have their party frocks and bottles of Champagne ready??!
We are spending NYE's in Besancon, France and have not managed to book anywhere for dinner so no doubt we will find ourselves toasting the new year with a simple meal of jambon, comté and thick slices of baguette in our hotel room....and a bottle of Billecart-Salmon, of course!

p.s. I just want to take the opportunity to thank all my readers (and particularly all those people who allowed me to take their photograph-without you guys there would be no photos and no blog!) for your support this year, I am overwhelmed by your kindness and encouragement. I have met some tremendous people, and formed some wonderful friendships through photography and blogging. I feel very fortunate that life has taken me on this path. Thanks so very much everyone :))

Naomi, working the laced-boots, little layered skirt and athletic top look.
p.s. Hope you all had an absolutely wonderful Christmas day wherever you are in the world. We are in the Dordogne region of France staying with friends in an incredibly beautiful converted barn. It is wonderful and relaxing which is just as well as we spent 22 arduous hours getting here from London by train, ferry and car-lets just say that Eurostar messed us around BIG TIME and I (nor my friend who is pregnant with twins) haven't quite forgiven them yet :) We had a fantastic clear day yesterday (boys were wearing t-shirts!) but there is an enormous fire to keep us warm as soon as it gets a bit chilly (we do seem to be getting through an uncanny amount of wood- I suspect none of us really know how to make a proper fire other than throwing lots of wood and kindling at it). We had slow-roasted goose and chicken for Christmas luncheon which was rather an experience- nothing like trying to remove the head of one's goose (it was dead but the French way is to leave same in tact for the lucky chef to, um, "deal with") on Christmas morning! Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Jamie would be proud :)) Bûche de Noël and cheeses for pudding, and lots of lovely red wine and champagne while we were preparing it all.

Well, it is almost 3:30pm now so time for my afternoon nap;-)
Joyeux Noel et Bonne année!

London Fashion Weekend...The Essex Couple
I photographed Sally-Ann Grane and her man, Stuart Aitken, back at London Fashion Weekend (just after LFW).
Stuart and Sally-Ann are from Essex and had come to London for the day for Fashion Weekend.

Adore Sally-Ann's bustier: perfect for the SS '10 lingerie (and lace) trend.
p.s. Loving the new Sonia Rykiel for H&M lingerie collaboration: Big Pants? Yes please :))

Stockholm Street Style...Marion
The beautiful Marion from Marion Rocks blog who I met randomly in Paris earlier this year. Marion has since moved to Stockholm to study and I was able to catch up with her when I went to Stockholm :)
Stockholm Street Style...Anna
Anna Wahlin. Love her puff-shoulder dress and especially the loose plaits in her hair- I think it gives the directional dress a softer, more girly look. The print reminds me of Christopher Kane's leopard print or the Stephen Sprouse Louis Vuitton leopard print.
p.s. Visiting Stockholm in the depths of winter means not a lot of daylight (which makes it a little bit difficult for photographs if you only use natural light) but one of the upsides is that a lot of the shops have gorgeous little lanterns outside which they light as soon as darkness falls. So pretty. Oh yes, and then there is the prospect of spending hours tucked away in cosy cafes slurping enormous bowls of hot chocolate (Chokladkoppen in Gamla Stan), eating fantastic warming meals at Nytorget Urban Deli in SOFO (the staff are lovely- as is everyone I encountered in Stockholm- and the smörrebröd set dish at lunchtime is fantastic value) and sipping champagne at the Bollinger Champagne Bar at the Hotel Stureplan.
My favourite stores?: Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Acne, Grandpa, Pitt Stop, Tjallamalla, Byredo perfume store....and plenty more that I didn't note down in my moleskine.

Stockholm Street Style...Filippa Smeds
I was lucky enough to spend two days in Stockholm the week before last and even luckier to catch up with 2 girls who I've photographed before on the blog: Filippa Smeds (who I met at LFW in September) and Marion from Marion Rocks blog, who I met in Paris earlier this year (Marion's photos to follow later this week!).
Filippa is one of those super-dooper multi-taskers girls who never fail to make me jealous: model, stylist and fashion editor at Radar Magazine she also had on the most envy-inducing shoes: those gorgeous Acne Atacoma black wedge-heeled ankle boots with the little silver insert running along the bottom. The.Most.Seriously.Perfect.Wedge.Ankle.Boots.Ever.
Oh yeah, and just look at her smooshy, ever-so-perfectly distressed leather and sheepskin bomber jacket. Humph. These Swedish girls.....They Got Style.

Running With The Fash Pack...Paris Fashion Week SS 2010
This outfit ticks so many boxes for me....timeless, classic but a little-bit-sexy (do you note the tinest bit of bra* peeking out of her shirt? and the little ankle zippers on her jeans?), all of the pieces can be worn summer or winter (take off the tights and maybe the blazer for summer, or replace the shirt with a crisp white tank when it is desperately hot; add a cape or coat for winter), and everything will still look good (provided you don't fluctuate too much in weight which, of course, the Parisian woman does not!) for years to come. Parfait!
Running With The Fash Pack...London Fashion Week SS 2010
The stunning Hannah Campbell in her super cute peachy-coral sweater dress* (I love a redhead who isn't afraid of colour!) and biker boots. Hannah is studying at university but has been interning at various fashion houses along the way, including Victoria Beckham's label (apparently she is absolutely lovely to work for-yep, I couldn't not ask!)
New York Street Style...Williamsburg, Brooklyn
I really liked Brooklyn, NYC, although I only got to see a teensy bit of it.....hopefully next time I visit New York I will be able to spend more time exploring the different neighbourhoods.
Apart from a wander across the Brooklyn Bridge (a must-do when visiting NYC) and a stroll along Brooklyn Heights Promenade and down through Dumbo (with a pit stop at Grimaldi's pizzeria* under the Brooklyn Bridge followed by steaming hot chocolate at Jacques Torres), I most enjoyed poking around the shops in Williamsburg.
There are loads of vintage shops dotted throughout Williamsburg but one I really liked was Malin Landaeus where I took the photos (above and directly below). Not only does Malin stock loads of vintage (not super cheap but not budget/mind-blowingly expensive either) but also some very pretty, quirky** jewellery by New Yorker Erica Weiner. I was eyeing off her ivory wood link necklace which I thought looked very Marni-esque at a fraction of the price.
My other favourite stores in the short time I had to look around were Bird in Grand street and CatBird on Bedford Avenue where, given the chance, I would have bought one of everything! I loved the CatBird tiny little gold alphabet studs (would it be terribly gauche to have a "v" in one ear and a "j" in the other?!), Blanca Monros Gomez's monogram necklace, Candace Ang's feather necklaces and all the vintage-looking journals and notebooks. In the end the lovely Leigh sold me a sepia plate with a beautiful photograph from the American photographer, L.A Huffman, of High Bear, Ogallalla Sioux, 1879, which I adore.
Loved these two super cool Williamsburg smoothies, Itzhak and Frankie leone, who I met just outside the L train on Bedford Avenue.

p.s. Williamsburg seems to be the home of iced coffee- everywhere I looked people were either getting one "to go" or sipping them in cafe's. I can't remember where I got mine from but it was very good.
*Definitely not the best pizza I have ever tasted BUT it is hugely popular (as evidenced by the long line of people waiting for tables at lunchtime and the amount of take-away pizza chugging out the door), and is well worth a visit for the atmosphere alone. We were particularly chuffed when the Men At Work song "Down Under" came on while we were waiting for our pie and I believe that there is some rather unfortunate footage of me merrily singing along sitting on a video camcorder somewhere :)
**For something a little bit different for your beloved this Christmas, check out Erica's fox penis bone necklace or her porcupine quill pendant!
